Prince Mambo puts in another brave Group1 effort. . .

Nov 09, 2014

A very brave run from the Go Racing managed Vermair interest PRINCE MAMBO to run 3rd in the $400,000 G1 2000Guineas at Riccarton on the first day of Cup Week.

A slip and a bad check immediately after jumping had him on the back foot from the hop, he raced 3 wide and still fought on bravely for another Group 1 placing. This interference cost him running 2nd in our eyes but we can't take anything away from the winner who is obviously a very talented colt.

After 2 group1 placings were hopeful his day will come, he will now have a well earned break and be set on a Derby path.

The $22,000 yearling purchase has now won $157,000 in his limited career to date.
